Many people wait to call us for getting help with their Social Security Disability claims stating they did not think they could afford an attorney/representative. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has issued past reports showing positive effects of having representation for a Social Security Disability claim. This report showed that claimants who had representatives “were allowed benefits at a rate nearly three times higher than those without representatives”. SSA officials were quoted as stating “that a representative can help the claimant by ensuring that the medical evidence and other records are fully developed and help the claimant present their case at a hearing”.
