Like last year, I am the Chair for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of South Alabama Event.  This year, it is the EXCLUSIVE walk for the entire State of Alabama!  Our walk this year is for a “Whole New World Without Breast Cancer!”  Registration begins at 7 am and the walk starts at 8 am.  The support for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides against Breast Cancer goes to fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and provide vital patient services like free rides to chemo and other treatments, free places to stay near treatment, and a live 24/7 cancer helpline.  You can sign up to walk, donate and volunteer at the Making Strides of South Alabama website.  We need volunteers, donations, and teams!

And speaking of teams, we would love for you to join our own Gardberg and Kemmerly team, Hooter Matata – Means No Worries for Breast Cancer!  That is the hope of Gardberg and Kemmerly – that there would be no worries for breast cancer any longer!  We represent many disabled people and so many have been affected by breast cancer.  Our own Christine Cumbie is a breast cancer survivor and a former Portrait of Hope for Making Strides – her story is a source of inspiration for many of us.  Our goal is to raise $20,000 for Making Strides this year!  Our aim is to have 100 team members, with at least $100 each in donations, which would raise our total to $10,000.  Once we reach that goal, Mr. Colin Kemmerly, our managing partner, has graciously agreed to match that amount with a $10,000 donation, raising our team total to $20,000!!!!
