The Social Security Administration (SSA) issued new guidance as to how receipt of COVID-19 financial aid such as stimulus checks and other payments will affect SSI benefits and/or eligibility.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Social Security Administration recently changed their rules about what financial assistance can affect someone’s eligibility for SSI or their monthly SSI payment amount. The new guidance states that the Social Security Administration will no longer count the following financial assistance against your eligibility or payment amount.
